Bachelor/Master Program

This program is available only to Kettering University undergraduate students/recent alumni entering Engineering or Engineering Management graduate programs.

Kettering University undergraduate students/recent alumni who desire to obtain a master's degree may elect to complete the Bachelor/Master (BS/MS) program which provides students an opportunity to accelerate the process in which they earn both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree. Students who are admitted into the BS/MS program will complete the same total number of work terms as conventional non-BS/MS undergraduate students. Students who have completed their BS may apply within 18 months of graduation to the BS/MS program.

In addition to the standard graduate program application for admission, students must provide a second application to formally apply to the BS/MS program. The additional BS/MS application can be completed and emailed to afleming@kettering.edu.

Highlights of BS/MS

  • Eight (8) credits (2 courses) of mezzanine level (500-level) courses, which were completed at the undergraduate level, are also applied to the master's degree – by double counting those two courses it leaves only 8 classes instead of 10.
  • Grade Requirements: A minimum WAG of 92 is automatically accepted. Students with a WAG below 92 will be considered on an individual basis. Each department will determine admission.
  • Both part-time and full-time MS students may qualify for this program.
  • This program is only available to students who will receive (or have received) a Kettering University bachelor's degree.
  • A thesis option is available for designated graduate programs.
