Manufacturing Engineering Minor Curriculum


Students who wish to earn a minor in Manufacturing Engineering and have it designated on their transcript must successfully complete six courses (24 credits) as listed below.

Required Courses (12 hours)
IME-301 or MFGG-370 Engineering Materials
IME-403 Computer Numerical Control Machining
IME-409 or MFGG-480 Computer Integrated Manufacturing
Elective Courses (12 hours)
A. One of the Following:
IME-404 or MFGG-404 Sheet Metal Forming
IME-405 or MFGG-405 Casting Processes
IME-406 or MFGG-406 Joining Processes
IME-507 or MFGG-507 Polymer Processing
   
B. One of the Following:  
IME-302 or MFGG-375 Materials and Process Selection
IME-408 or MFGG-490 Automation with Robotics and CNC, or Robotics
IME-474 or MFGG-459 Design for Manufacture and Assembly
IME-575 or MFGG-573 Failure Analysis
   
C. One of the Following:  
Non-duplicate course from A above
Non-duplicate course from B above
IME-499 Independent Study (must be pre-approved by IME Program Director for use in minor)
