Work Design Concentration

Systems work only if people make them work. A good workplace is designed with people in mind. Courses in Work Design teach students how to design tasks and work environments that result in safe and productive workplaces. In other words, students learn to design the product and process to accommodate the human user. Students will learn how to measure and evaluate human performance and design integrated operator-machine systems. Courses in this area prepare you to work in a variety of areas, including process improvement, ergonomics, biomechanics, and safety.
Work Experience
Work experiences involve the study of workers and their tools, workplace design, and the workplace environment. By performing these studies Kettering's IE students help their co-op employers to create improved working conditions, decrease the probability of accidents and errors, and lower overall costs.
